James E. Jones, Jr., 60, of Arizona and formerly of Marine City, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 8, 2012. He was born in St. Clair, Michigan on September 16, 1951, a son to the late James E. Jones, Sr. and Dorothy Marie (Dupree) Jones.
Mr. Jones was employed as a deputy warden by the corrections system in Arizona. He served his country faithfully as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and loved fishing as well as football and baseball games.
Jim will be fondly remembered by his wife, Velma Patterson-Jones and his children, Jason, William, Eric, Danielle, Michael, Michelle and Amaj. He is also survived by Julia Moak, Evelyn VanPelt, Tina Sanchez McKermain, Tammy Williams, Thomas Dupree, Tonya Black and thirteen grandchildren in addition to nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Mary Jane (Jones) Mrzywka.
Graveside services with military honors under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City, Michigan, on Monday, July 16, 2012, at 2:00 P.M.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City, Michigan.
